On 12 February 2025, a group of MSc GMRM students went on a half-day field trip to the High Island Reservoir East Dam, a beautiful spot in the Hong Kong Geopark. We saw the amazing hexagonal rock columns, which formed 140 million years ago from volcanic activity. While walking along the High Island Geo Trail, we admired the unique S-shaped rock formations and learned how they were created. This experience helped us appreciate the beauty of nature and the processes that shape our landscape.
